FAVERSHAM HOP FESTIVAL
This popular, lively festival recalls the traditional celebrations associated with the hop harvest - when an army of hop pickers would leave London for a working holiday in Kent. As well as street entertainers, musical acts, dancers and vintage Shepherd Neame vehicles, there's a host of activities at the Brewery and in Shepherd Neame ubs throughout town. SPITFIRE HOP PICKERS STEAM TRAIN Special trains will operate on Sunday 5 September as Britain's Oldest Brewer conjures up the atmosphere of the trains that once carried thousands of happy hop pickers from London to the Kentish countryside.
